Go to weapon crafting table and choose the style of weapon put your mats and there is your sword. Combining your weapon crafting lore with your material lore will be able to make a higher quality weapon.
Then get a grip material like leather from pigs. So you mine granum and crush it to get flakestone. A good starter sword would be a flake stone sword. Go to your town respective crafting librarian and buy all books related to sword crafting( wrapon crafting, handles,2h handles, blades, advanced blades) then the material lores which would be the handle, grip, and blade material.
