The process will be running a short time then its gone. Gothic 2 wont start, when youve downloaded it from steam. I wanted to run Gothic 2 on 4k and enjoy the good old game. This might very well be the reason if you've downloaded a portable version. I faced some problems in the past running Gothic 2 after many years on a new operating system (such as Windows 10 redstone).
I know this is one of the most basic reasons ever, but, you can't ever know.
I just dont think the game likes the video mode that runs (3D) make sure the video mode is the (2D) one. The game should work if the video above didn't work for you. go ahead and click 'Run Test' (screen may go black a few times, just wait) check the box that says 'Run as Administrator'ġ1. check the box that says 'Run this program in compatibility mode' (mine is set to run with windows 7, once box is checked, by default for some reason) KEEP IT AS WINDOWS 7Ĩ. then (at the top of properties window) click on the compatibility tab.ħ. then find 'D2VidTst' (if it works the first time you click it skip to step 10)Ħ. Some people say it works for them after doing this(w7,8,10):ģ. Simple google search yielded me with this result.
